Homes security reviews is designed to educate consumers about the terms and technology which describe and define home security systems. The market changes to fast and there are to many products to think we could actually write traditional reviews of each one. Instead we provide plain english descriptions of the technology of selected security systems on the theory that consumers armed with this information can approach the market in an educated manner and buy the best system for their particular home security needs.
What qualifies us to write about home security? You can read more about us on our technical website, but, in brief, we combine electrical engineering, with scientific educational experience and many years of writing for the web. When we started we knew nothing about this system and very little about modern home security systems in general. However, as long time Costco members we feel they sell things with a lot of value for the money. We decided this would be a decent quality home security system, affordable for many, with most or all of the features a computer literate consumer would be looking for.
The alternative would be to assemble a custom home security system from the best of the components available. While it would probably save some money and produce a better security system we believe this approach would require to much research and study for most consumers. For better or worse, most buyers will be forced into pre-packaged systems.
This site will be buuilt around our purchase, installation and use of this system.
